Ingredients

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 30 g of milk powder.
  • 40 g of butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon of baking powder.
  • Warm water.
  • Cheese for the filling.

Instructions

  • Sift the flour, and add the egg, sugar, powdered milk, butter, salt, and baking powder, mix until it forms a compact but very soft dough, adding warm water little by little.
  • Cut the balls of equal size and form the arepas with your hand or with the help of a lid or plate, flatten up the arepas.
  • In a hot iron, cook over low heat, letting it cook, on the one hand, and then turn it over to cook on the other.
  • Once cooked, open the inside, spread butter, and stuffed with cheese. And ready.
