Ingredients

  • ½ pound of panela
  • Enough water

Instructions

  • Add the panela to a slow cooker along with the water.
  • Place on medium heat for 15 minutes or until it begins to boil and the panela has dissolved.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • In this recipe, I'm using ¼ of panela, two of these small blocks make half a pound of panela.
  • Don't worry about the amount of water the first time, if it's too plain you can add a little more panela, if it's too sweet, you can add a little more water and put it back on the heat in both cases until it boils.
  • You'll soon learn to calculate the water accurately and become an expert.
