Tequila and coffee liqueur over ice, with a squeeze of lime and a pinch of salt. Strictly this is a Brave Bull: a Black Russian is the same drink made with vodka. Two glasses, five minutes, no shaker needed.
Two ingredients make a Black Russian: vodka and coffee liqueur, poured over ice in the ratio of roughly two to one, and stirred. Swap the vodka for tequila and the drink has its own name, Brave Bull, which is what this recipe makes. Neither is difficult and neither needs a shaker. The lime and salt here are not part of either classic, but they work against the sweetness of the liqueur in the same way they work with a straight tequila. Add cream on top of a Black Russian and it becomes a White Russian.
