Meringue Kisses

Ingredients

  • 5 egg whites.
  • cups of powdered sugar.
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • Food coloring or baking dye.
  • Candy sprinkles for decoration as desired.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 100°C (212°F) and line the tray with cupcake liners or parchment paper, leaving the tray aside.
  • In a bowl, place the egg whites and whisk with salt until you get a consistent mixture.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, folding gently, and then add the vanilla extract. If using food coloring, incorporate a few drops and mix.
  • Transfer the meringue into a wide-mouthed piping bag and pipe dollops onto the lined tray or greased and floured tray. Sprinkle with candy sprinkles or sugar.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, depending on size. Once dried, remove from the oven.

Allow to cool and then enjoy!

    Notes

    • Maintain a minimal oven temperature to avoid burning the meringue kisses, and never open the oven within the first 30 minutes.
