I want to bring you a flagship recipe from our country, one of the iconic catfish in sauce, a popular dish and consumed by many Colombians, one that they enjoy when it comes to eating it.

The catfish in sauce is a dish that is prepared a lot in my house. My sister and my father love fish and each of their preparations. So at home, we consume this ingredient regularly and differently. This time the turn is for catfish in sauce, an incredibly delicious combination.

What type of catfish used for this recipe?

In Colombia, generally, the sauce used for this fish is the Creole sauce or the famous stew, a typical sauce, and widely used in Colombian kitchens. I love stew, whether in the arepa, in potatoes, in beans and this case, even in fish, there is nothing more irresistible to me, so I have also decided to prepare this fish in sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 catfish fillets
  • 3 to matoes.
  • 100 g onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 160 ml of water.
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 pinch of cumin.
  • Salt and pepper.

Instructions

  • In a skillet with butter, sauté the onion cut into small cubes for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the diced tomato, finely chopped garlic, and simmer for a few minutes, salt and pepper.
  • Add the water and the catfish fillet seasoned with salt, pepper, and cumin. Cover and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes or until the catfish is ready.
  • Finally, serve the catfish with the sauce and go.
