Cabbage salad without mayonnaise

  • Medium tomato
  • Sliced onion (Optional)
  • Grated carrot
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Chopped cilantro to taste
  • Cheese (Optional)

How do I prepare the cabbage for the salad?

To prepare the cabbage, first you need to wash it and then chop it on a board, then proceed to boil it or wash it with plenty of water and salt, to remove all the microbes and from there move it to a large bowl.

Ingredients

  • ½ Small cabbage (cut into thin strips)
  • 1 Medium tomato (chopped into slices or small pieces)
  • ½ Small onion (cut into slices (Optional))
  • 1 Small carrot (grated)
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Chopped cilantro to taste
  • Cheese (Optional)
  • Salt to taste (Optional)

  • In a little bit of water, boil the cabbage for about 3 minutes over medium-high heat. This is to eliminate any possible bacteria. Drain the water.
  • Mix the cabbage, tomato, onion, carrot, cheese (if you use it), and cilantro. Finally, add the lemon juice and salt to taste, in a large pot or bowl.
